Kids' Day
The Exotic Feline Breeding Compound's Feline Conservation Center hosted its first "Kids' Day" event in 2005, dedicated to encouraging and teaching kids how they too can become involved and contribute to endangered wild feline species preservation.

The center has always had an active interest in educating young people about its preservation programs, the importance of conservation efforts, and the benefits of housing endangered species in a captive environment. Through the years, thousands of kids have visited the center with their schools, youth-oriented organizations, family and friends. And although many kids want to help at the center or become a volunteer, volunteering and working at the center can be very dangerous, even for its adult staff, and so kids have been limited in their contributions.

Kids' Day features activities and events geared with kids in mind. The day features activity tables, face-painting, an educational animal show, and many more exciting surprises. And like the center's renowned Twilight Tour evening events, limited only to adults, Kids' Day guests will be treated to viewing the center's feline residents in a more active state as they receive enrichments ("toys") to pique their interest. Kids of all ages will be able to see what ferocious wild felines are like at playtime. Kids' Day will be a special day for kids, to allow kids to be a part of a very unique preservation center and it will give them ideas they can take from the center to help endangered species and the wild feline species preservation and conservation efforts continue.

Can't volunteer on a regular basis? Come out for this one day and help us get LOTS of work done! 18 and older. Wire brushing and painting the Project Tiger panels is high on the list, and there will be other tasks such as wheelbarrowing dirt around as well. We'll provide cool drinks, a deli lunch, and a behind-the-scenes tour. We recommend showing up at 7 am as it may get HOT later! If you can't be here at 7 then come at 10 am when the facility opens, we will be too busy to look for stragglers in between. Wear work clothes & shoes, bring painting supplies if you have them. See flyer at Working Day 07

Big Cat Bazaar - 17 & 18 May 2008
Come One Come All to the Big Cat Bazaar!!! Saturday & Sunday, May 17th and 18th, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. EFBC's Feline Conservation Center will host the 4th Annual Big Cat Bazaar, a fund raising event to benefit the center's preservation and conservation efforts to save endangered wild feline species. The event will be a two-day charity yard sale event, with items collected and donated from volunteers, EFBC members and supporters throughout the community. Those whose New Year's Resolutions included cleaning out and emptying closets, storage rooms or garages, are encouraged to make a donation to this very worthy event. And those looking for a great deal on everything from sporting goods and household items, to gardening, computer equipment and linens should not miss the Bazaar in May. EFBC's Feline Conservation Center is now seeking and accepting donations for this tremendous two day sale. All donations must be taken directly to the center located in Rosamond. The EFBC is not equipped to accommodate pick ups of any donations. You can bring in clean, saleable items to the gift shop while we are open.
